Homeless is not the end of the road.

I've known a number of people who went through a period of homelessness in their lifetime.

Years ago my neighbor in Ft. Lauderdale told me he had been homeless and lived under a bridge while being addicted to crack cocaine.  He eventually got off crack, found a job while living under the bridge and rented a room.

I knew a guy years ago who was on his third marriage, had three children, had owned a painting business then became a locksmith.  He owned a boat at a marina where we used to drink and talk.  He had been homeless at one point in his life many years ago after a divorce.

I met another guy two years ago who was homeless for a long time when he first moved to Orlando, Florida.  He lived in the woods with several other guys near my hometown.  He worked temporary jobs, usually in landscaping, met the owner’s daughter at one place he worked, married her and now he has a daughter, drives a tractor-trailer, has a new pickup truck and rides a Harley.  True story!

If it happens, it's not the end of the road.
